About Lowboy Trailers
Why lowboys exist
Lowboys exist because standard flatbeds can't legally haul tall equipment. The 13'6" federal height limit leaves you short on a flatbed once your equipment clears 9 feet on its own tracks or wheels. A lowboy's dropped center deck sits 18 to 24 inches off the road — half the height of a flatbed deck — which gives you clearance for tall excavators, dozers, cranes, transformers, and industrial equipment that would otherwise require a permit route or specialty hauler.
